#167 Toes or heels on the line?
Sep 23, 2024Welcome to Weekly Whisper #167.
Toes on the line or heels on the line?
We all know our comfort zone is a suitable place to relax and chill.
It’s a great place to de-stress and re-compose yourself.
It’s easy, familiar and doesn’t require constant alertness to threat.
You can be in your comfort zone and still gain insight, through a reminder or a question that plants a thought seed for later.
We also know outside our comfort zone is a suitable place to adapt and grow.
It’s a great place to test yourself and fail fast.
It’s usually not easy, unfamiliar, and can present with emotionally threatening circumstances.
But if you live in your comfort zone it’s unlikely you’ll adapt, grow, and reach into your potential.
It got me thinking that usually a ‘comfort zone’ is visually expressed as a circle.
Even if it’s not a circle or some other shape it’s usually bound by a line.
A line that denotes inside/outside of your comfort zone.
The question for me is… Are you closer to the line with your toes or heels?
With toes, you can look and see what’s out there but most of you is within your comfort zone.
With heels, you can still see what’s out there but most of you is outside your comfort zone.
“In order to grow in any area of your life, including your business, you must cross the threshold of your comfort zone”
Tony Robbins
So, what about you – toes or heels on the line?
Have you listened to the new episode?
Episode #88 Featuring Glin Bayley
In Episode 88 Pete chats to Glin Bayley – colleague, author and negotiation Specialist about her new venture, The Value Negotiator and the accompanying book The Negotiation Playbook.
An in depth discussion pointing directly at the wide range of contexts that are negotiable. If you’re interested in negotiating bigger, better deals; negotiating a better salary; negotiating with the kids on screen-time; or even negotiating with yourself, this is a must listen. Glin shares her expertise and touches on topics such as ‘power with’ rather than ‘power over’ and 5 steps to negotiate anything.
