#179 Are you filled-full or fool-filled?
Dec 16, 2024Welcome to Weekly Whisper #179.
Are you filled-full or fool-filled?
How did we get here!
Last time I looked it was mid-October and here we are in mid-December with no more sleeps required to justify the repeats of the movie Elf 😊
Last year I wrote about how it felt like error 429 - too many requests, too much data, not enough battery. I must be insane (doing the same thing…etc) because I’ve repeated the same pattern again this year.
Feeling overwhelmed in my attempt at meeting all the predicted and unpredicted demands made of me and I’ve made of myself.
Running on empty caught in the crossfire of client reliability and family and friends connection.
Navigating the tricky balance of self-care without any care for self.
Every task request - made of me and made of myself - feels like it needs to be completed before the holiday shut down and if not – Oh well, that can wait until February then!
See what Accenture have to say about how we are attempting to re-balance life’s demands.
RESEARCH REPORT - Accenture Life Trends 2025
Last year I wrote about a simple 1-2-3 strategy
1️⃣ Accept your limit has been reached
2️⃣ Remind yourself of what’s most important to you
3️⃣ Declutter and practice FOMO – the FREEDOM of MISSING OUT
This year? Oh, the irony. Here’s what I’ve actually done versus intended.
1️⃣ I didn’t accept I had a limit until my body told me otherwise. I’ve ignored my limit.
2️⃣ I’m constantly nagging myself about what’s really important (and I’ve had some experiences in the last 12 months that would reinforce this) and yet I still maintain an “I’ll get to it tomorrow” mindset. The important stuff will wait for me to catch up…sometimes they don’t and haven’t.
3️⃣ I’ve re-cluttered and practiced FOM0 – Full Of Meaningless 0’s
What a fool I’ve been.
I’ve definitely been fool-filled rather than full-filled.
The good news is…it’s all on me.
It’s my responsibility.
I’m complicit in the situation I’m complaining about.
So, I’ve got agency and I intend to use it
I’m looking forward to a break.
I’m looking forward to some silence…because it’s full of answers.
How about you?
Are you full-filled or fool-filled?
